Conekt has been involved in the development of cutting edge sensing technology for many years.  In particular Conekt’s involvement in automotive radar and video sensing technologies provides us with the skills necessary to develop and tailor products to meet customer requirements.

Already proven in a harsh automotive environment, the sensors are robust and versatile.  In its original application, the AC20 radar senses and tracks moving objects, typically other vehicles within the road scene. The T Cam+ video sensor digitally processes road scene data to identify the road markings and estimate the location of the host vehicle in relation to the boundaries.  C-Flex Max is a powerful image capture and processing solution, capable of on-board stereo or mono image processing, combined with highly flexible input/output (I/O) and communications.

Conekt has the capability to programme all sensor types to perform the required tasks.  For example, the radar can be used to detect most solid objects while the image recognition processing inside the video sensors can be programmed to recognise data for almost any image characteristic and infer measurements such as speed, position and line detection.

In addition, Conekt has significant expertise in taking data from both sensor types and fusing it together to significantly improve the quality of information.  Conekt’s industry leading data fusion experience and intimate knowledge of the radar and camera products, allow Conekt to offer bespoke solutions to complex sensing problems.

Conekt is also familiar with TRW’s yaw rate and acceleration sensor, which can be mounted independently on a vehicle and outputs the measurements over the high speed CAN bus. This highly accurate sensor incorporates a self checking diagnostic function and so is suitable for use in safety related applications.
