Conekt to present paper on High Voltage Automotive Ancillaries at Automotive Engineering 2013

On 12 November 2013, TRW Conekt’s lead for new product development, Paul Furmston, will be presenting a short paper at the Automotive Engineering Show at the NEC Birmingham. Paul’s presentation, entitled ‘Developing Automotive Ancillaries for High Voltage Operation,’ will describe a three-year TSB sponsored project that was undertaken to convert an Electrically Powered Hydraulic Steering (EPHS) system for use on high-voltage power supplies. Paul will be available after his presentation to discuss how Conekt can provide engineering support to organisations engaged in automotive product development.

Paul commented: “This particular project involved the development of the EPHS system to operate at 400 V while offering the same power steering capabilities as the original 1 kW, 12 V system. Working alongside other leading organisations, the project provided an opportunity to review standards that are not fully applicable to electric vehicle sub-components and to develop a new electrical architecture.”

As part of the Advanced Engineering UK group of events, Automotive Engineering has doubled in size since 2012 providing an opportunity for international organisations within the automotive industry to exhibit their products and services alongside four other engineering events.

Conekt will be exhibiting a range of automotive products along with details of its product development and validation services. If you are attending the show, please visit us on stand G20 in hall 5.
